Talk Money

This workshop was so slick: well-thought out, professional, resourced and well paced. The team were really friendly and had a good rapport with the children; it is clear that they are experienced in educational settings and that they know the level of understanding the children have in order to gain the most from the workshops.

Our classes were so engaged with the task of picking a business idea and budgeting for it - thinking about the hidden costs and the value of materials, marketing, staff, etc. This was the perfect introduction to an enterprise initiative we run in our school in Term 6 and has got the children thinking about future businesses. The children most enjoyed applying Maths and PSHE skills to 'real-life' practical activities.

We wouldn't hesitate to book ootiboo again and would highly recommend them for workshops to anyone.

The ideas and concepts [discussed during the workshop] have continued to be a part of pupil discussions, outside of the classroom.

One year 6 boy, has created a detailed business plan; found a local location, in which to house his business; and presented his concept to the class recently. (He has also considered the staff he will need, and has made job offers to 6 members of his class, who have shown an interest! (So watch this space!).

The Talk Money workshop was another highly engaging and purposeful opportunity [from ootiboo] for our children to learn through discussion, creativity, and real-life application. Chris and Angus delivered the sessions with great professionalism, ensuring that every business concept was carefully designed to capture the children's interest and encourage them to think deeply about their financial choices and values.

The materials were thoughtfully constructed to stimulate curiosity and critical thinking. Pupils were challenged to make decisions, consider consequences, and work collaboratively. There were numerous opportunities for meaningful discussion, compromise within groups, and the presentation of strategic plans - all of which enhanced their oracy, reasoning, and teamwork skills.
