eCo: Soil
A Wildermage project
ootiboo and Wildermage Games Inc. are delivering a 90-minute workshop for Years 4–6, combining Science curriculum units (rocks, soils, and habitats) with English speaking and listening. Using lore from the upcoming adventure game, students explore the 'WorldWithin', a mystical fantasy realm where Fae maintain real-world nature.
The workshop was very hands on which made it inclusive, the children were able to handle the soil and work together at reading what they needed to do from the cards provided. The lore behind the workshop was interesting and I could see there being more options and possibilities for further curriculum development on this in other subjects within school. Both classes enjoyed the workshop and both teachers felt the children learnt new things and had fun.
